It was just about 24 hours in San Diego before our cruise aboard the MS Zaandam that would take us up the North American coast.
When you land at San Diego International Airport, you really land in and over San Diego.
Our overnight stay in San Diego would be at the SpringHill Suites San Diego Downtown/Bayfront that’s just a few hundred feet from the cruise terminal and has nice views of San Diego.
Lunch would be at nearby Ketch Grill & Taps.
This photo of a Southwest airlines jet landing at San Diego International airport shows how the use of a telephoto lens can compress the field view. The woman on the hotel balcony pointing at the jet is 1000 feet away from my photo location, while the jet is 5000 feet away from the hotel window which I photographed through to take this photo.
Palm trees and a golden sunset. It’s almost like they schedule that for the tourists.
Twilight view of the USS Midway museum.
View of San Diego from Broadway pier.
If the Sun isn’t setting behind the Palm trees, they light the trees for you.
It’s rare to see the cruise ship we are going to sail on pull into port. This ship is the Holland America cruise ship MS Zaandam.
From the fine people who provide the Tiki Time Tours ( the boat on the left ) – “Tiki Time Bay Tours is an all-new, must-do adventure when living in or traveling to San Diego. Led and hosted by professional improvisers, Tiki Time is never the same old boring ride around the bay.”
I didn’t think we were speeding as we left the cruise terminal.
