It was suppose to be the year the defending 2010 World Series champions, the San Francisco Giants defended their title. Turns out the defense of the the title pretty much ended in May of the 2011 season when Buster Posey suffered a season ending injury against the Florida Marlins. The Giants finished the the 2011 MLB season with an 86-76 record that earned them 2nd place in National League Western division behind the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The 2012 Baseball season has also had many twists and turns for the San Francisco Giants. This year is just seems like fate in on their side as they have played their way into the 2012 World Series after facing 3 elimination games in the National League Division series against the Cincinnati Reds and again facing 3 elimination games in the National League Championship series against the St Louis Cardinals .

While the actual team picture is taken in 1/250 of a second, there is a lot of preparation that goes on before hand to make it all run smoothly and quickly. This time lapse video shows the two hour process involved with the San Francisco Giants 2011 team photo in just 60 seconds.

Sunday October 28th, 2012 Update – The San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers 4 games to none to win the 2012 World Series with a 4-3 game four victory to become World Series Champions for the 2nd time in 3 seasons.
