The Oakland LDS temple which features a sweeping view of the San Francisco Bay Area,  and the 170-foot tall temple that is a highly recognized East Bay landmark. The well managed grounds include by a creek style water feature running from fountain to fountain toward the temple entrance, and is lined with colorful flowers and towering palm trees. The public visitors center  includes numerous displays and an reproduction of Thorvaldsen’s Christus statue.
