It was a 15 day bucket list cruise for most of the passengers aboard the Holland America MS Eurodam that went from Fort Lauderdale, Florida through the Panama Canal to San Diego, California.<\/p>\n

The cruise would start at the Port Everglades cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After\u00a0 a couple of sea days and close pass by Cuba, the ship’s first stop would be Cartagena, Colombia in South America. Leaving there the ship would pass through the Panama Canal and then have stops Puntarenas, Costa Rica – Acajutla, El Salvador – Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Cabo San Lucas Mexico and finishing at San Diego, California.<\/p>\n

The port stop of Cartagena, Colombia offers visitors the chance to tour the city in classic cars from the 1950’s.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

When crossing through the Panama Canal from the Caribbean Sea side ( Atlantic Ocean ) you first pass under the Puente Atl\u00e1ntico Bridge before reaching the locks.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The first lock of Gatun locks raises your ship almost 30 feet above sea level.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Guests on the MS Eurodam watch the passage of the Morning Christina through the two step Miraflores locks, which are the last before reaching the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n

\"Early<\/p>\n

A seabird passes as our ship makes an early morning port of call to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Our visit to Cabo San Lucas included a boat ride to the Cabo Arch, a striking, three-story granite rock formation at Land\u2019s End.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

Our final stop on the cruise was San Diego, California. As we were staying about mile away from San Diego International airport, we could see the jets landing there all day long. There is no limit on landings at the Airport, but the very noisy takeoffs must end at 11:30 PM and can resume at 6:30 AM.<\/p>\n
