It’s not really possible to capture all that happened during a 28 day trip with just 10 photos, but I wanted to post something. So here are 10 photos that caught my eye during the process of downloading and organizing thousands and thousands of photos.<\/p>\n

\"View<\/p>\n

You have seen the view from the ground of this tower possibly hundreds of times. Mostly with people pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Visiting the tower wasn’t planned, but it was just a train ride and a taxi from Florence to visit, so we did. Climbing the 251 steps to the top also wasn’t planned, but twenty Euros, and burning thighs got me to the top for this view of Pisa.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

There was no heads up from the ship as we passed the White Cliffs of Dover. But there were the storm clouds of the off and on rain of the day to make a more dramatic photo.<\/p>\n

\"Valdespino<\/p>\n

We were told during our tour and wine tasting at the Valdespino Winery in Spain that this room contained 25,000 barrels of wine. I didn’t have to time to count and make sure.<\/p>\n

\"Night<\/p>\n

We got back from the days adventure in time to beat the heavy rain in Florence. I was leaning out our hotel window in the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella to make this image with my handy dandy Canon 24-105 RF zoom.<\/p>\n

\"Tanker<\/p>\n

Every morning on the cruise ship before we get into port, I am out and about looking for early morning photos than can only be made with the rising sun light. This photo of a tanker ship off the Rock of Gibraltar is one of those pictures. Sometimes you get lucky with the weather, and you get clouds to make the photo more dramatic.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

There certainly would have been better views riding the Aeri de Montserrat cable car up to the Monastery, but we rode up on the bus that brought us from Barcelona. Even in September there were crowds visiting, which caused the tightest bus parking I have ever seen.<\/p>\n

\"Blue<\/p>\n

I captured this image in Varenna on Lake Como. Our cruise on the lake did pass by George Clooney’s house, but George gave us the cold shoulder and didn’t come out.<\/p>\n

\"View<\/p>\n

The on and off rain during our ride on the Bernina Express in Switzerland produced these amazing clouds. Yes, the views are better on the right side of the train.<\/p>\n

\"Slow<\/p>\n

I usually do a good deal of slower shutter speed panning photos of motorcycles and bicycles. This pan captured the bike rider at the exact speed so as to give the impression he wasn’t moving, but the rest of the world was.<\/p>\n

\"View<\/p>\n

We only spent two days in Rome, mostly to rest before the trip home. Having been in Rome before, I knew the Tiber River has a brown not to pleasing color once the sunlight hits it, so I headed out at about 6AM to capture the blues seen in the pre sunlight hours.<\/p>\n

After walking what turned out to be the long way to reach the river, I made this image photographing from the Ponte Garibaldi bridge aiming North West towards the Vatican Dome. This was the very first image I made when I caught site of the reflections and the Vatican. I would of course take more photos, and from different angles and even return the next day to try and make a better image. While this wasn’t the very best I took, it was the very first I took when confronted with this view.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
