Doing my research for this post, I found out the bullfighting ring pictured ( Plaza de Toros de Palma) was built in in 1929. I remember the tour guide saying the bullfights would occur their usually once a year. That may not be case anymore as bullfighting was mostly outlawed in Spain, and then the law was found unconstitutional. I don’t know what the status currently is. I do know our visit to Palma de Mallorca included the only bullfighting ring I’ve even been in.<\/p>\n

With just a little bit of luck and skill, I was able to capture another member of our tour group pretending to be bullfighting in the empty ring with no other visitors in sight.<\/p>\n

\"Plaza<\/p>\n

The Bellver Castle offers great views of the city along with an interesting open air design in the middle of the castle.<\/p>\n

\"Circular<\/p>\n

If you do enough cruise excursions, you realize sometimes that you have been sold to a vendor. What that means is the stop will provide restrooms, but the main object is for the members of the tour to purchase items from the location. This jewelry store\/rest stop had this beautiful necklace on display. I don’t believe it was for sale. Though in reality, everything is for sale.<\/p>\n

The first of my many thousands of blog visitors to correctly name all of the caricatures in the photos wins a subscription to my blog which has exactly ZERO value. I was able to for sure figure out who four of the famous people pictured were. With a good idea of who another three are.<\/p>\n

Construction on Palma Cathedral was begun by King James I of Aragon<\/a> in 1229 but only finished in 1601.<\/p>\n

\"Palma<\/p>\n

It appears I am the only person to have visited the Palma Cathedral who then took a photograph of this and posted it on the internet. Though that seems really, really unlikely, I wasn’t able to find a description during my search for info.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

I included a copy of the menu so that I would know what restaurant we stopped at to get some cool beverages on a rather warm day. A search on Google lead to other establishments that I don’t feel were the location we visited. Win some, lose some.<\/p>\n

I guess our next stop after Palma wasn’t far away, as we were still in port during nightfall when I was able to make this photo of Palma Cathedral from alongside the ship. Normally our ship would blow out of town by 5pm or 6pm so we could sail to the next port as the slowest most money saving speed.<\/p>\n

GPRO Valparaiso Palace & Spa has views of the port of the cruise ships that visit Palma.<\/p>\n

I am not sure if ship pictured is one person’s luxury yacht, or a luxury yacht for several guests.<\/p>\n
