<\/p>\nIt’s interesting that the most famous church in Barcelona, Spain is the newest, and in fact is still under construction with a completion date scheduled 100 years after construction began.<\/p>\n

The La Sagrada Familia Basilica by far draws the biggest crowds of visitors of any church in Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n
I would be remiss in my duties as a world traveler if I didn’t include the Spanish spelling of their famous landmark – Basilica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia.<\/p>\n
During some of the shore excursions on this Mediterranean cruise my wife and I have used Viator’s skip the line tours to save time entering popular tourist destinations. We did so on our visit to La Sagrada Familia. The tour also included a couple more stops. I didn’t find those extra stops worth the time or money. Just my 2\u00a2 worth, but if I were visiting the basilica again, I would do it through the church’s website. Two advantages, one it’s cheaper and it looks like you can book for a particular time. The second advantage being you can go up in one of the two towers when booking online. That’s not possible when touring with a large group.<\/p>\n
Just to give a little more perspective on the design of the church, here is a photo showing the opposite end of the Basilica and the different coloring of the walls and ceilings.<\/p>\n

I photographed this object in one of the display cases while at the church, I’m not really sure what it is or what is made of, but I am sure it makes a nice photo.<\/p>\n
