The ultimate challenge for a sports photographer
is covering the National Football League - NFL.
It can be the last play of a championship game with 65,000
fans screaming at the top of their lungs, and yet you as a
NFL photographer have to concentrate on where the ball
will go, if you have the right lens on your camera, and oh
just maybe the play will go out of bounds right toward you
and all your equipment. At that moment it is required that
you have great reflexes if the play happens in front of you,
or if the play comes right at you.
Covering the NFL teaches you to expect the unexpected.
Sometimes the story can be the emergence of a rookie
quarterback and his sudden rise during the playoffs.
Another game the most interesting story might be that the
power went off during a night football game.
Or just maybe the best image of the day will be a Hall of
Fame quarterback sitting on the bench in the 4th quarter
after being pulled from the game as his team is down 28 points.
