East Bay
Area Photographer
I've lived my entire life in the
East Bay Area. Brentwood is the
sixth East Bay city I've lived in.
My professional photography career started
when I photographed a high school
playoff game in Pleasant Hill and
took the photos to the West County
Times in Pinole to see if they were
interested. Those photos that the
paper purchased started my journey
into the world of professional
photography in the East Bay area.
While I was working in the newspaper
field, my photos were published in
the Contra Costa Times, the San Jose
Mercury News, the Oakland Tribune,
the Contra Costa Independent, and
the West County times.
Back then,
everything was on film. You had to
get it right the first time. There
was no Photoshop to save your bacon.
Getting it right the first time is
still a skill that comes in handy in
the now digital world of photography.
