Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Megan and Robert’s wedding at the Clos Le Chance winery in San Martin. The wonderful weather along with the beautiful scenery and Tuscan design of the winery made for a simply breathtaking wedding day. Delancey Street Foundation – Exchange of Vows Laura & Kendra Sneak Peak

Laura and Kendra exchanged vows in the Screening Room of the Delancey Street Foundation on the Embarcadero in San Francisco this past weekend. Their reception followed just a few steps away in the Herbert Halper Town Hall. Here’s a sneak peak from the day’s celebration.

It was a perfect Napa Valley September day for Katy and David’s outdoor wedding and reception. The nice sunny day turned into a pleasant evening for family and guests to celebrate their union.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Wedding Daly City – Fremont-Newark Hilton Hotel Reception- Jenny & Ramero

Jenny and Ramero’s wedding day started at the Fremont/Newark Hilton Hotel while the Bride and Groom got ready for the wedding ceremony. Then a quick trip across the San Francisco Bay allowed the couple to get married at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Daly City. It was then back to Newark for their wedding reception at the Hilton Hotel.

ISPWP Spring 2012 Wedding Photography Contest Winner

The results from the ISPWP ( International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers ) Spring 2012 contest were recently released, and I’m pleased to say that 1 of my photos placed 4th in the ceremony category of the contest.

The Mountain Winery Wedding – Saratoga, CA – Renu & Vikram

Renu and Vikram proclaimed their love for each other with two wedding ceremonies at the Mountain Winery set high in the Saratoga foothills with views of the entire Silicon Valley. Their guests were treated with two different wedding ceremonies representing their different backgrounds. After the outdoor mid morning wedding ceremonies, the guests were treated to a multicultural reception in the Ivy covered Winery building which was built in 1905 by the famous winemaker Paul Masson.

Several months back I had the opportunity to work as a second photographer for Noah Hawthorne during Megan and Brian’s San Francisco wedding at St Patrick’s Cathedral. The day started with extra coverage of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready at the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Then it was a quick trip across the street to cover the guys getting ready at the Omni Hotel. Next it was on to St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the big event. After the wedding ceremony it was time for a cable car trolley ride to the San Francisco piers to take some ocean side photos. The day’s coverage ended where it started at the Julia Morgan ballroom in the Merchants Exchange building on the 15th floor. Thanks for inviting me along Noah, it was a fun day and a beautiful wedding.

Sacramento Valley – Lake Natoma Inn – Folsom Wedding

A couple months ago I was able to team up again with Stephen Hew working as the 2nd photographer for a wedding in one of the Sacramento Valley’s finest wedding venues, the Lake Natoma Inn, in the city of Folsom. A beautiful day and a wonderful couple made for some great photos. There was even a special guest that dropped by for a brief moment. See the sixth photo below.

Fremont Newark Hilton Hotel – South Indian Wedding – Hindu Ceremony – Priya & Santosh

Sometimes you will photograph the wedding of a couple who has flown across the county to be married in the Napa Valley or on the Monterey coast, and you will meet that couple in person for the very first time on the day of their wedding. Other times as with Priya and Santosh you are involved in the cultural traditions leading up to their wedding day.

My first day of capturing Priya and Santosh’s wedding journey started in June when I flew back to the San Francisco Bay Area from British Columbia, Canada to photograph their engagement ceremony at Priya’s parents home. Later that month it was over to San Francisco and Lands End to do their engagement photos which would be included in their guest signing book. Two days before their September wedding I was once again back at the family home with guests, family, and friends for the Mehndi party for henna skin decorations.

Coverage of their wedding day started bright and early at 7am as Priya and Santosh got ready for the morning ceremony at the Fremont – Newark Hilton Hotel. Helping me cover all the morning’s festivities and events was Stephen Hew. After the morning ceremony and lunch for the guests, their was a break in the day’s coverage which I used to head home and down load the morning’s images for a slide show that the guests could view before the evening reception. Joining me to cover the evening’s events was Matt Kim. At 11pm that evening my coverage of Priya and Santosh’s wedding journey was over. It was great getting to know them and capturing their journey. Thank you Priya and Santosh.

A while back I had the opportunity to join Sam Hassas as a second photographer during his coverage of Jessica and Cory’s wedding at the Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin California. You can view Sam’s coverage of the wedding HERE. It was an enjoyable day watching the master work, and working along side him. My day started with coverage of the guys getting ready at the hotel.

Besides being a beautiful and joyful wedding to cover, my coverage netted me two awards in the ISPWP quarterly contests. The photo of the garter toss earned 6th place in the Decisive Moment Category for 2009 Winter quarter contest. While the picture of the junior bridesmaid taking a photo placed 6th in the Framing the subject category for the Spring 2010 contest.

Kirsten and Trevor’s wedding day started out with a very rare September thunder and lightning display that woke up much of the San Francisco Bay area in the early hours of the morning. This photo showing the bride and bridesmaids jumping into a swimming pool after the backyard wedding reception has now won awards in both the WPJA and ISPWP wedding picture contests. With the current down turn in the economy, I think garden weddings may become a new trend.

Healdsburg Wedding Photographer – Rio Lindo Adventist Church – Amy & Matt
