Folsom Wedding – Lake Natoma Inn – Sacramento Valley – New Year’s Day

I started off the wedding season this year by assisting Marjorie of Stellasweeet Photography on New Year’s Day at the Lake Natoma Inn – Folsom, California in the Sacramento Valley.  It was a fun wedding that involved many surprises, including a Flash Mob,  Pittsburgh Steeler NFL football gear, and many footballs.

Sonoma – Napa Valley – Domaine Carneros Chateau – Over the top Processing in Lightroom

It was just a quick trip to Sonoma, CA to take a few snaps a couple weeks ago. Since it was such a nice day, I took a few more on the way home. Since that day, Sonoma was named one of the most beautiful towns in America by therichest.org. On this trip I decided to stop at the Domaine Carneros Chateau to capture a few images of the spectacular lighting that the mix of sun and clouds were providing to photograph the 18th century château-style building that was completed in 1989. The building was inspired by the historic Taittinger-owned Château de la Marquetterie in the  Champagne region of France.
The photos you see below had some over the top processing done to them in Lightroom 3. Hope you enjoy how they turned out.

Shiva-Vishnu Temple Livermore Hindu Ceremony – Castlewood Country Club Reception Pleasanton – Newark/Fremont Hilton Wedding & Reception – Kristin & Ramesh

The weather that had included more rain than usual was no where to be found on this wonderful sunny spring Saturday that Kristin and Ramesh chose to celebrate their love with a day long celebration that included two wedding ceremonies and two receptions. Their day began with a 7:30 am South Indian Hindu wedding ceremony at the Shiva-Vishnu Temple in Livermore. After all the color and tradition of the ceremony is was time for family and guests to enjoy a luncheon reception at the Castlewood Country Club located in the foothills of Pleasanton. The days celebration concluded with another wedding ceremony and reception with dinner and dancing at the Fremont/Newark Hilton Hotel. Helping me to capture all the joy and festivities of the day was Berkeley Wedding Photographer Stephen Hew.

Jake Locker – University of Washington – 8th Pick in 2011 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans

Will there be an NFL season or not? All that doesn’t matter today, as the NFL holds it’s annual college draft in New York city at the Radio City Music Hall with commissioner Roger Goodell announcing the draft picks.

With their eight ( 8th ) pick in the 2011 NFL draft today, the Tennessee Titans selected senior quarterback Jake Locker from the University of Washington. Locker was the 2nd quarterback drafted today behind the first pick in the entire draft, Cam Newton from the University of Auburn. The 6′-3″ 231 pound quarterback from Washington who started 12 of 13 games in his senior year is projected to replace last year’s Titan quarterback, Vince Young.

Another NFL first round draft pick was on the field that day on November 27th, 2010 when the Golden Bears of California hosted the Washington Huskies. That player would be senior defensive lineman #97 Cameron Jordan who was selected 24th in the first round of the NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints.

During his senior year Cameron Jordan had 62 tackles and 5.5 sacks. In the the photo below we see two Washington offensive lineman trying to block Jordon while he nearly sacks the Washington quarterback and 7th pick in the 2011 NFL draft Jake Locker.

- April 29th, 2011 NFL draft Update -

The New England Patriots figured if a lot of rain couldn’t stop him, maybe the snow wouldn’t either, as they drafted California running back Shane Vereen in the second round of the NFL draft. Cal junior Shane Vereen was the 56th player taken overall in the 2011 draft. He played in all 38 games during his three years at Cal, and started 19 of them. After just three years, Vereen leaves Cal as fifth in school history with 4,069 all-purpose yards.

On this play California running back Shane Vereen scores of his two touchdowns against the Arizona St. Sun Devils at Memorial Stadium on October 23, 2010.
