Sometimes things just work out great. The rainy weather cleared up just in time for a golf team photo on the 17th tee at Lincoln Park golf course and just after the photo shoot was done the Navy Blue Angels started practicing for their Fleet Week shows this weekend.

The actual line from the movie Top Gun is, “Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby”. Which gets the reply from the tower, “Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full”. That of course didn’t stop Tom Cruise aka “Maverick” from buzzing the tower. Here the Blue Angels are seen going vertical.

Since they couldn’t “buzz the tower”, the six Blue Angel jets do a fly by over the Golden Gate Bridge.

The four Blue Angel Boeing F/A-18 Hornets fly in formation with their landing gear and tail hooks down with the clouds from the recent storm adding interesting colors.

  1. Wow, these are some iconic shots. Those planes are just nuts. When we lived in downtown Chicago, they would get so close to the buildings… it would freak me out. Never got a very good shot of them though. Great work!
